The man who helped start the Spanish Inquisition was also named the Grand Inquisitor of Spain between 1483-1498. Using spies, he turned his people against one another and had children testify against their parents to have them executed.
He created dozens of contraptions as torture devices. He ripped off the victim’s nipples, tongues, ears, nose, and genitals. He would even flay his enemies and burned people at the stake. Some accounts say he had 30,000 put through every sort of torture before they passed.
He even convinced King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella to expel the Jewish and Muslim people from their land.
